Madrid - The city that never sleeps!

Whilst other cities claim to be "eternal" or "romantic" Madrid Spain is certainly the city that never sleaps!
Visitors might be shocked to find out that on a weekend evening the natives won´t even consider leaving their home until after ten pm. Although
during the week concessions are made and the Madrilenos start the party earlier... at around nine!
Now "partying" Madrid style is different from any other city. At any given given time there are numerous bars, discos, parties and gatherings
for the visitor to choose from. Whilst one may have to change the place, or "lugar" in Spanish, a couple of times its quite simple to spend 24hrs eating, drinking and generally watching the world go by.
Therein lies the difference!
Whilst some cultures practise drinking to excess the Madrid way is become merry and maintain yourself that way until the early hours of the next day. Of course there are always some who, ahem, "pass the line" and find themselves enjoying rather too much the liberal measures of spirits that swarthy barmen will keep pouring until you say no! Thankfully its relatively easy to drink and not become drunk. How?
Tapas!
The single greatest invention to have come out of Spain is the great tradition of Tapas and Tapas in Madrid are no exception. With each and every drink you order a small snack will be given free of charge in all bars and restaurants although not in the discos. This care of the stomach makes sure that the smiles become bigger, the laughter heartier and the dancing further animated, if thats even possible!
One can choose to enjoy Tapas from all over Spain in Madrid as it takes the best of Andalucian Jamon and combines it with the offerings of fresh Galician seafood. The sheer variety is why so many visitors return to Madrid time and again!
Whether coming to Madrid for the first time or returning to sample its charms once more you can be assured that Madrid only happens in Madrid!
