 Krk
Croatia,
a town, port and summer resort in the bay of the same
name, on the
south-western coast of the island, situated in the northern part of
the bay.
Today this
town
offers a picture of tourist diversity. Nature, with the typical
Mediterranean landscape, narrow streets leading to one of the numerous
cultural monuments,
charming
pebble
beaches provide an image preserved for centuries. On the other hand,
the contemporary life has driven the inhabitants outside the
city walls, so that a town of beautiful villas and attractive houses has
developed, which offer hospitality to many guests.

campsites, a multitude of beaches, water sports and boating facilities,
excursions to the treasury of heritage - Kosljun, or the mystery and
richness of the underwater life of the islet of Plavnik (corals) -

During the summer, many artists and ensembles come to Krk Croatia. The tradition
includes the local festival in honour of St. Quirinus, patron of the town
(4th of July), the summer festival (16th of July - 24th of August),
with events taking place on the stages of the cathedral, atria of the
Franciscan monasteries in Krk, Kosljun, and in the Frankopan Castle, as
well as the Fair (8th-10th of August).
 This
island is the closest Mediterranean island to Western and Middle Europe,
connected with the mainland by bridge. Krk's airport can receive the
largest aircrafts operating on international flights. The Krk Croatia island is
located 30km from Rijeka and its railway station. There are train links
with Italy, Austria, Germany and Hungary on a daily basis. There are also
daily bus lines from Rijeka to Trieste, Muenich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart,
Budapest, Zurich, Cologne and other European centers. The island is 80km
from Postojna and the Karawanken highway - the shortest route connecting
the island with the European road network. |
