Rijeka Carnival

February in Croatia is a typical Carnivals month as an ancient tradition, celebrating all over Croatia. The most famous are Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik Carnivals.

The city of Rijeka is known for its many parade floats and for numerous parties during the festivities. For those who want a more traditional carnival we recommend the island of Pag where you can enjoy on the famous event "Robinja" (The slave). And for those who desire masked parades in the palace of ancient nobility we recommend the city of Split. Finally to enjoy dancing under masks choose the carnival in the city of Dubrovnik.

It is still cold in Croatia in February. Skiing resorts near Zagreb are very trendy snow lovers destinations. Plitvice Lakes are still ice-covered but not less attractive.

Along the coast and islands is rather rainy but the temperature is well above freezing point. Hotels in smaller costal towns and islands are still closed, but it is still possible to find some of them open and the price will be more than convenient.
