Hotel Croatia (Cavtat)
A great place for those who want a quick journey and then have nudism right on their doorstep! The Hotel Croatia is a very laid-back but genuine international 5-star hotel set, on split levels, across it's own wooded peninsular. It is just 10 minutes from Dubrovnik Airport but it does not suffer from aircraft noise. Whilst the hotel is not Naturist it does have its own private official nudist beach/sunbathing.
My wife and I love this splendid hotel - all we have to do is strip naked in our bedroom then put on the pristine hotel towelling robes and descend, via the lift, to the lower floor. Turning left out of the lift a very short corridor opens onto the cliff-top and immediately to the right is the start of the hotel's naturist beach.
To call it a beach is, perhaps, misleading as it consists of a series of flat concrete platforms (set into the cliffside) with safety rails and concrete steps connecting one level with the next. There are toilets and showers at the top and, at the bottom, there are stainless steel steps with hand rails to get into the sea which is fantastic for snorkelling with many brightly coloured fish of all shapes and sizes! The sea shelves away quickly into deep water but the large swimming area is cordoned-off (protected from boats) by a barrage of connected floats/buoys. Here I could dive, using just mask, snorkel and flippers, completely naked to around 50 feet (15 metres)- this really is "skin-diving"! Great feeling!
The hotel supply sun umbrellas free-of-charge to all guests sunbathing naked at this facility which is very well run. Drinks are also available to naturists. The sunbathing platforms are brilliantly situated as they are elevated and take full sun right up to an un-obstructed sunset out over the water! Each of the sunbathing platforms is relatively private and great for allowing the sun to get to every part of your body without attracting furtive glances from onlookers!
This is a lovely place with superb views out to sea and, possibly, is one of the best hotels on the Adriatic! Unfortunately there are lots of steps to negotiate so you need to be a relatively active sort of person to stay here.
