Magnificent Istria Highlights
Green Istria highlights
Istria highlights are scattered all over this green and blue peninsula. Most tourists traveling to Istria are predisposed to visit costal town like Umag,
Porec,
Rovinj or
Pula , neglecting the fact that Istria region offers a surprising diversity of natural resources specially in the part, sometimes called Green Istria.
The Blue one is the part along the Adriatic coast from Umag to
Pula. The green one is the fraction of internal medieval cities where the mountain valleys appear light green and tan.
The Blue Istria with its beautiful beaches is rather crowded during summer months but I highly recommend to visit magnificent Istrian interior following very simple itinerary.

Blue Istria - Brijuni islands From Pula visit a small place Vodnjan
While in Pula don’t miss to take a day trip to Brijuni Islands.
From beautiful Rovinj, take day trips to Pazin and Buzet.
While staying in Porec , take a short excursion to Motovun and Groznjan.
Plomin , an old Istrians old Roman settlement
Being very close to Italy , Istria has a strong Italian flavor. Practically all Istrians speak Italian fluently and don’t be surprised if you come in July or August to see streets crowded with Italian visitors.

Green Istria -
Motovun
If you decide to visit Istria in so called low season (June and September) you will have more possibility to enjoy the Istria highlights like
Euphrasian Basilica in Porec, taking part of concerts in Pula’s Roman amphitheatre, enjoying fishermen returns in picturesque port of
Rovinj or admire the Venetian buildings in
Motovun.
