This island has been over forty years, forbidden destination to any kind of tourist visits, as a military zone. In order to keep this unique pristine natural habitat, rich in marine and plant biodiversity, holidays on this island are designed for couples and small groups, based on private hospitality accommodation.

Watching the map of this island you will noticed many small islands on the both sides of the island. One of them Mrcara is the right place for Robinson-like vacation for those who wish to spend their vacation far away from civilization or overcrowded beaches, eager of quiet and peace, in the vicinity of the sea!

On the island there is small private accommodation unit where you can enjoy daily fresh prepared food and mostly prevail food that owners breed and hunt ( fish, sea shells, eggs, chicken, goats).It is prepared in traditional way roasted, baked, under bell cover or grilled. Resort Mrcara gets electricity from generating unit, and it is used primarily for food storage and cooling drinks.

When thinking that I have seen everything, I went on recommendation to Lastovo Island at Hotel Solitudo. Former military zone, which has been later changed to National park is today something like Paradise for water, nature, food and sports lovers. Bio veggie, local wine, daily fresh fish and lamb, these all made my stay.

The whole time of the vacation we literally spend in the nature. I was practically living like a bee, when we weren't eating we were buzzing around, taking a walks along the bays, listening to crickets, breathing in real and fresh air. But the most important thing is, that after so many years I actually saw the sky filled with stars.

The hotel emerges in the nature perfectly, it is not big or glamorous, it is cozy and homey. With the kindest staff in the world (we will never forget Draga and Vishnya). The whole atmosphere is relaxing, at the evening there is live music at the hotel terrace (by the way the terrace is 5 steps away from the water) and during the day we enjoyed in the cleanest sea (small fishes swimming right next to us). Another thing I was delighted with is food! I recommend fresh fish on the grill and pasta with lobster and the wine sauce. I recommend to everyone to definitely come and experience everything for themselves.

L'ho visitata in barca e mi sono fermato una settimana. E’ una isola veramente incontaminata a totale ed esclusivo uso dei diportisti. Senza barca lasciate perdere. 650 abitanti pochi locali a conduzione familiare un piccolo arcipelago da sogno. Peccato non sia raggiungibile via terra. Per il resto un tuffo nel tempo che fu. Nota stonata il costo esorbitante dei due taxi presenti sull'isola. Una pompa di benzina vicino al cambiavalute. Capitaneria di porto abbastanza cortese. Se vi comportate bene nessuno vi darà fastidio. Pesce freschissimo cosi come la frutta venduta vicino all'Hotel Solitudo.
