Lastovo island has been considered as
one of the last paradises in the entire Mediterranean. What makes
this island so special, even if it’s not Hvar or Korcula.
First of all this island is a rare example of untouched natural
resources, unique natural habitat , rich in marine and plant
diversity. This island is far away from those usual tourist
beaten-tracks places.
If you are looking for holidays based on private accommodation,
which includes abundant offers of fish and lobster, vegetables grown
in private gardens offered by generous local house owners that this
island, is the right place for you. This island is designed for
couples and small family groups holidays.
Maybe this review on tripadvicor.com by two guests will be more than
a proof what this island really is…..
“The most peaceful place I have stayed in years. spent days staring
out to sea! Great apartment with a balcony overlooking the bay of
Zaklopatica. no shops, no transport - we had to walk in!! 50 minutes
walk uphill to Lastovo town but we always managed to hitch a lift.
The apartment was great size for 2, well kitted out and clean.
modern, comfy.
Milka, our host, was amazing. she sells homemade wine in 11/2 liter
lemonade bottles for a few pounds. she plied us with fresh grapes.
The local restaurants were amazing value but you need to order in
advance for anything more than grilled fish - we shall have to go
back for the lobster spaghetti.I am almost loathed to recommend this place as we fell in love with
the tranquility. We paid about £40 a night.”

Try Robinson Crusoe style:
Struga Lighthouse: The lighthouse of Struga was commissioned
in 1839 by the Emperor Franz Joseph. Purpose-built to command the
best views of the island, the lighthouse towers 262,47 feet above
the outer reaches of island’s sublime southern coastline.
Accommodation includes two simply furnished one-bedroom apartments
with newly remodeled kitchens and bathrooms. The lighthouse keepers
will gladly prepare meals for their guests. Lastovo Village, the
nearest place to shop and stock up on groceries, is 4,97 mi away. |
