October weather in Croatia is not mild but sunbathing and swimming is still possible, but it really depends on the weather and chances are that you'll get more sunshine in the southern Adriatic. In this month you can expect temperature between 15°C and 25°C (59°F - 77°F) and the sea temperature between 16 and 21°C (61-70°F).

This is a period with more rain and windy days, particularly in Istria region and northern regions of Croatia.

Monthly values for October in Zagreb is 11°C (51°F) and in Dubrovnik is 17°C (63°F). As you can see the weather in south and Central Dalmatia is usually enough mild for any kind of outdoors activities. One of the activities you can enjoy is October cruising and kayaking.

Those who travel to Croatia in October can experience a country entering into the normal pace of a life. In October children are back in school and island’s habitants are busy harvesting grapes and other local products. Visiting the Croatian islands you have to be more careful when planning a ferry connections because in October, winter schedule runs until the end of May. Ferries are less frequent than in high season. (from June to the end of September).

October weather in Croatia is particularly mild on some of central Dalmatia islands like Hvar. Hvar is proud that it has the most sunny hours of all the islands in the Adriatic Sea.

October in Croatia is a month with many local events and some of the most famous festivals. The most important is Zagreb Film Festival from 18th to 24th October.
