Trogir reviews

Read all Trogir reviews before you go!

Trogir reviews will inevitably help you know more about this picturesque town considered as one of the Dalmatian coast's wonders. It is positioned on a small island just north of the major Croatian city of Split, separated from mainland by sea canals.

The entire island has been built up like an old fortress, complete with high walls and towers. Its streets are narrow and cobble stoned. In short -- it is like a small bit of Venice, but less crowded and less expensive than its more popular neighbor across the sea.

The entire Old city core is under protection of UNESCO world heritage? Trogir monuments, buildings and work of art are selected (in 1997.) between very few cities in the World to represent world's culture and art treasure.

Fortress Kamerlengo is situated at west end of Trogir islet, built by Venetians in thirteen century as a naval base for their navy forces in this part of Adriatic. It is named by town Magistrate Camerarius. Nowadays, fortress is multimedia center with open air cinema and stage for various cultural events. The cathedral of St. Lawrence with Radovan's portal at the entrance are the most famous town monuments.
