Ugljan island

Ugljan island Jadrolinija connections!

Ugljan island and Zadar archipelago

The Ugljan island lies only several nautical miles away from Zadar, and it is connected to the island of Pašman by a bridge. It has been inhabited since the Roman times, which can be seen through the remains of Roman convents and old summer residences.

Noble families from Zadar used to built their residences on the island, most famous of which is the Califfi castle from the 17th century.

Fisherman places such as Ugljan, Lukoran, Kukljica and Preko offer you Mediterranean cuisine in restaurants and taverns and on festivities such as "Kaljska ribarska noc" in the town of Kala on the night of the full moon. Bays of the island are ideal places for going diving, and the island's inland is very interesting and suitable for trekking and mountain bicycling. Jadrolinija-Search sailing schedule from Zadar to island of Ugljan

Ugljan is a place and small harbor on the northeastern part of the island of the same name that is connected to the mainland by daily ferry lines Zadar - Preko. A road leads from the ferry port to the place of Ugljan. The inhabitants traditionally live off of agriculture and fishing, while tourism has developed thanks to beautiful beaches in the place itself. The island's most beautiful sandy beach is located 2 km away in the bay of Muline. There are several restaurants that serve traditional specialties. We recommend Ugljan primarily for a quiet family holiday. Privat accommodation in Ugljan.

KukljicaKukljica is located on the far east end of Ugljan island, in Zadar's archipelago just before Kornati National Park and Tealscica Nature Park. Situated on a narrow area of land, Kukljica has an exclusive exit onto both shores, north and south, and is thus readily visited by yachts.

Kali is the biggest place on the Ugljan island, which belongs to the Zadar Archipelago. As this place is known as the most important fisherman's centre, do not miss to know its gastronomic specialities.
